5. Stress the benefits of becoming an affiliate with your small business. This is the important financial information your reader is going to be most interested in. Describe the amount of money you can offer for each customer that is obtained through the efforts of the affiliate, and how that money will be paid.

2. Introduce yourself and your company in the next part of your email. State your name, the company's name, what type of business it is, and why you believe your business is a good fit the person you are writing. If your company is a hair salon and the person you are contacting is a model, there is a good chance she will be interested in being your affiliate.

What if you used an autoresponder instead? That way you could create two, three, even ten email messages all at once. One blog post per email works well. Then schedule each message in the autoresponder to go out every seven days. Viola. You now have what looks like a weekly newsletter, but is actually an autoresponder. And you now have a lot more free time.

Don’t just put an opt-in form at the top of your navigation column and it call done. Add one to the footer. You’ll get about 20% more signups with this trick.

You can use the create autoresponder page to automate your email messages in all sorts of sophisticated ways. Just remember to label everything carefully, or things can get confusing.

you could automatically send anyone who clicked on those links an email message designed just for them. Here’s how:

You refer Joe to us, and he signs up at $19.00 per month. Each month Joe uses AWeber, you'll earn $5.70.

Did you know you can make money showing small businesses how to use AWeber’s opt-in email marketing campaigns to boost sales?

You'll then refer businesses in need of email marketing software to AWeber by tagging links to our site with your affiliate ID.

To answer your question…10 emails a month is an average of 2.5 per week, which isn’t that much in my opinion. Especially if you’re sending them links to GOOD content that doesn’t have a sales pitch. Like I said towards the end, you might want to give more content and less salesy stuff if that’s your nature.

I appreciate it. I worked pretty hard on this one. (as I said, over 10 hours with all the “email” examples I made from scratch) I hope this is a real “tent post” article and people really do appreciate it and get some great value from it.

In addition, you can give extra value by sending people to different types of content (no strings-attached of course!):

This email isn’t perfect, but it’s written in my own words. Plus I do my best to explain how this program can help a subscriber improve their success at blogging.

After one year – $1261.26 (assuming each customer continues to pay for their account) and that's for referring just one customer a month.

last click gets sale

And if the customer upgrades to a plan with a higher payment, your commission increases too. Your earnings accumulate month after month, even if you refer only one account per month.

Even if you think you’re not a sales ninja and start with a goal of referring just one account per month, you can earn a nice commission.

What other tactics have you used to successfully market affiliate products via email?

I have been messing around with a flash version but I can’t get it to work for Mozilla. (and I won’t spend the money on Camtasia right now)

I have seen other newsletter systems include a ‘tell a friend’ function, will aweber be developing this?
